Ceva and boAt unveil a strategic partnership aimed at elevating the wireless audio experience

Ceva, Inc. (NASDAQ: CEVA), a leading provider of silicon and software IP facilitating the seamless connection, sensing, and data inference capabilities of Smart Edge devices, has joined forces with India’s foremost audio and wearables brand, boAt (Imagine Marketing Limited). This strategic partnership aims to propel technological innovation within boAt’s upcoming range of lifestyle-centric consumer products, spanning TWS earbuds, neckbands, headphones, speakers, and smartwatches.

Encompassing a diverse array of Ceva’s cutting-edge connectivity, sensing, and inferencing technologies, the collaboration will see ‘boAt Labs,’ the in-house research and development team, harness these resources to craft high-quality products offering an unparalleled user experience at affordable price points. The inaugural product resulting from this collaboration is the Nirvana Eutopia Spatial Audio headphones, incorporating CEVA’s Bluetooth, Audio AI DSP, and the RealSpace® spatial audio software solution, complete with precise head tracking capabilities. Notably, these headphones mark boAt’s initial foray into spatial audio, elevating the auditory experience with dynamic head tracking. The Nirvana Eutopia headphones are slated for release in India during the first quarter of 2024.

While boAt currently utilizes Bluetooth audio chipsets from various semiconductor suppliers, a significant portion of which relies on Ceva’s Bluetooth platforms and/or Audio AI DSPs, the collaboration takes this association further. Ceva and boAt will collaboratively select Bluetooth audio chipsets from Ceva licensees tailored for boAt product lines. Furthermore, the partnership will involve optimizing Ceva’s value-added software packages for these products, spanning TWS earbuds, neckbands, headphones, smart speakers, and smartwatches, thereby enhancing the overall technological sophistication of boAt’s consumer offerings.
