Acer Unveils Predator Atlas 8 Gaming Handheld Powered by Intel Arc G-Series Processors

Acer has expanded its Predator gaming portfolio with the launch of the new Predator Atlas 8 gaming handheld. Designed for gamers seeking a portable PC gaming experience, the device is powered by the latest Intel Arc G-Series processors and combines high-performance graphics, advanced cooling technology, and a Windows 11 gaming environment.

The Predator Atlas 8 (PA08-I51) is powered by up to the new Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and is designed to deliver enhanced handheld gaming performance while maintaining battery efficiency. Running on Windows 11, the device also provides access to XBOX Mode and XBOX Game Pass, enabling users to access a wide range of games and system tools from a single platform.

Intel Arc Graphics Bring Enhanced Gaming Performance

At the core of the Predator Atlas 8 are Intel Arc G-Series processors paired with up to Intel Arc B390 graphics. The device supports ray tracing technology and Intel XeSS 3 AI-powered upscaling, which is designed to maintain smooth frame rates during demanding gaming sessions while reducing stutter and input lag.

Acer has equipped the handheld with an battery capacity of up to 80 Wh. The company says Intel Endurance Gaming technology helps balance performance and power consumption to support longer gaming sessions away from a power source.

AeroBlade Cooling Debuts in a Gaming Handheld

The Predator Atlas 8 introduces Predator AeroBlade cooling technology to the handheld segment. The dual-fan cooling system includes what Acer describes as the first metal fan used in a gaming handheld.

The precision-engineered metal AeroBlade fan features 89 ultra-thin blades measuring 0.1 mm and is designed to deliver up to 10 percent more airflow. Working alongside a secondary plastic fan and Acer’s Vortex Flow tuning technology, the cooling system is intended to improve airflow management and maintain performance during intensive gameplay.

8-Inch 120Hz Display Designed for Immersive Gaming

The gaming handheld features an 8-inch WUXGA touchscreen display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support, 500 nits peak brightness, and a 16:10 aspect ratio.

For durability, the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC technology, which helps reduce glare while providing scratch resistance. The touchscreen also supports 10-point multi-touch functionality.

Audio is delivered through dual 2-watt speakers with DTS:X Ultra support, while dual microphones combined with Acer PurifiedVoice technology provide AI-assisted noise reduction for clearer communication during gaming sessions.

Built for Connectivity and Customization

The Predator Atlas 8 includes dual Thunderbolt 4 ports for docking, display output, and accessory connectivity. It also supports UHS-II microSD cards for storage expansion.

Wireless connectivity features include Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Acer is also bundling a subscription to XBOX Game Pass, giving users access to a large library of games immediately after setup.

The handheld features full-size analog sticks and a dual-mode trigger system that allows players to switch between micro-switch controls for fast-response gaming and Hall-effect analog controls for genres requiring more precise input.

PredatorSense Arrives on a Handheld for the First Time

Acer has also brought its PredatorSense software to a handheld gaming device for the first time. The application provides system monitoring, performance mode controls, RGB lighting customization, and access to gameplay settings.

A dedicated PredatorSense button allows gamers to quickly access and adjust settings without leaving their gaming sessions.

Availability of Predator Atlas 8 Gaming Handheld

The Acer Predator Atlas 8 will be available in North America, EMEA, and Australia beginning in October 2026. The company said pricing, specifications, and regional availability will vary by market.
