Samunnati, one of India’s largest agricultural enterprises, is hosting a flagship conclave like no other, bringing together over 170 lighthouse Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from across the country. The two-day conclave, titled “Building a Resilient FPO Ecosystem,” will take place in Hyderabad from June 23 to 24, 2023. Samunnati firmly believes that collective action is the foundation for significant socio-economic transformation, and this flagship event aims to provide a unique platform for high-performing FPOs to learn, collaborate, and thrive together.
The event, organized “for the FPOs, and by the FPOs,” seeks to recognize those who have made a positive, sustainable, and lasting impact on farmers’ livelihoods. The conclave offers selected FPOs the opportunity to share their stories of challenges, achievements, and lessons learned with the wider FPO ecosystem, inspiring them to become successful commercial enterprises and ultimately benefit farmers across India.
The conclave will feature thoughtfully curated panel discussions centered around four key themes: “Addressing the ‘access to finance’ paradox,” “Opening FPO mindset to AgTech Innovations,” “Access to Markets – Opportunities & New developments,” and “Climate Smart Practices & Regenerative Agriculture.”
Distinguished panelists, including industry leaders such as Mr. S Ramesh (CEO, Nabkisan), Balakrishnan (Vrutti CEO), Ashish (Chief Strategy Officer, Garuda Aerospace), Ananya Ramakanth (UNESCO, MGIEP), Tushar Devidayal (Devidayal Solar Solutions), and Ramanjaneyalu (Centre for Sustainable Agriculture), will share valuable insights and thoughts on their respective panels for the benefit of FPOs and other stakeholders within the ecosystem. All panels will feature equal representation from successful FPOs within the corresponding themed areas.
In addition to the panel discussions, prominent speakers such as Dr. Shaik.N.Meera (Director, ICAR-ATARI), Mr. CS Reddy (APMAS), Mr. Shireesh Joshi (ONDC), and Mr. Arun Raste (NCDEX) will deliver speeches broadly themed as “Building Resilient FPOs, Digitally.”
A highlight of the conclave is the Gala evening on June 23, where Mr. Muthukumar, Group CFO at Olam Group Limited and CEO – Operations at Olam Agri, Singapore, will address the audience on the theme “Making FPOs Sustainable and Profitable” as the Chief Guest. The event will also feature the launch of the “State of Sector Report 2023 – Farmer Producer Organizations in India” published by NAFPO. Shri Anish Kumar, Managing Director of Transforming Rural India Foundation, will delve into the report’s highlights and key implications for the year ahead.
Speaking at the conclave, which will be attended by important stakeholders from the value chain, policymakers, government officials, industry experts, ecosystem players, and startups, Mr. Anil Kumar SG, Founder & CEO of Samunnati, stated, “This is first of its kind congregation of top performing FPOs in the country who are the torchbearers for the entire ecosystem. The idea is to use this congregation as a platform to discuss and exchange ideas that made them successful and take them far and wide for the benefit of the entire ecosystem. This will be a great enabler for the nascent FPOs in Agri-ecosystem in the country.”
The conclave will take place at Kanha Shantivanam in Hyderabad, a unique venue set in a sprawling 1000+ acre green campus, serving as the worldwide headquarters of the Heartfulness Foundation.
