The company has announced a new feature in Windows 11 that will give users more control over default apps. In addition, later this year, Microsoft will introduce a new deep link uniform resource identifier (URI) to simplify the process for users.
Microsoft’s upcoming deep link URI feature will enable developers to direct users to the appropriate section of the Windows 11 Settings menu for modifying how the OS handles specific links and files. This will simplify the process for users and grant them greater control over the default apps pinned to their desktops.
