According to sources, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, has sanctioned ₹147.55 crore to establish a centre in Jaipur to develop IT and e-governance, aimed at enhancing cyber and data security and combating cybercrime within the state.
The proposed ‘Rajiv Gandhi Centre for IT Development and E-Governance‘ in Jaipur aims to establish a digital ecosystem for blockchain, cyber security, IFMS, and data security, per the center’s plan. Its objectives include preventing cybercrimes within the state, promoting awareness of online fraud, and enhancing the capacity of technical graduates by imparting knowledge and skills necessary for using blockchain technology.
The institute will be equipped with essential tools and software for creating and implementing effective IT solutions to bolster e-governance. These software, tools, and platforms will also be available as services for various sectors, including academia, industry, government, and start-ups. The centre will also undertake research and related work using the latest technology in the IT sector, such as cyber range and blockchain platforms.
