Xiaomi 13 Series Tipped to Get Glass, Ceramic, Options of Leather Back, Leaked More Details

The release date for the Xiaomi 13 series in China was originally set for December 1. The event had been scheduled for the day before the launch, but the company postponed it. No new date has been announced for the introduction of the company’s flagship products. Xiaomi has announced a number of Xiaomi 13 series details. A regular Xiaomi 13 and a more powerful Xiaomi 13 Pro will be part of the lineup. The dimensions and weight of these rumored smartphones have been leaked. It is also expected that the Xiaomi 13 series will be available with a choice of ceramic, glass, or leather for the back panel. 

Weibo user Panda is bald (translated) and claims that the base model Xiaomi 13 will have a 6.36-inch E6 AMOLED display with full high definition. The rumored dimensions for the glass-backed model are 152.8 x 71.5 x 7.98 mm, with a weight of 189 grams. The Xiaomi smartphone’s leather-backed variant could have dimensions of 152.8 x 71.5 x 8.1 mm and a weight of about 185 g. 

The Xiaomi 13 Pro, meanwhile, is said to feature a curved 6.73-inch 2K E6 AMOLED screen. The rumored dimensions for this upcoming Xiaomi smartphone are 163 x 74.6 x 8.38 mm, and the estimated weight is 229 grams. A possible leather-backed version of this product could have dimensions of 163 x 74.6 x 8.7 mm and a weight of 210 grams. 

Xiaomi delayed the release of their 13 series smartphones by one day. To date, no new release date has been officially announced. However, several key Xiaomi 13 & Xiaomi 13 Pro specifications have been made public. These future flagship smartphones would be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, combined with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 internal storage. 

The Xiaomi 13 Pro will have a Sony IMX989 1-inch picture sensor, which is tuned by Leica. In addition, both Xiaomi 13 series phones will include a 75mm Leica telephoto lens with an f/2.0 aperture. These smartphones get an IP68 grade for water and dust protection.
