ControlZ, a renewed smartphone brand in India, has onboarded more than 1,000 dealers across the country. The company aims to expand its network to 3,000 authorised dealers by the end of the current fiscal year, responding to demand from general-trade retailers and telecom distributors looking to add renewed smartphones to their product offerings.
The expansion is part of ControlZ’s effort to increase the availability of renewed devices through physical retail channels and make them more accessible to customers across India.
Refurbished Smartphone Market Records Growth in India
The company’s expansion comes amid changing smartphone purchasing trends in India. According to Counterpoint Research, refurbished smartphone volumes in the country grew 13% year-on-year in the first half of 2026, while new smartphone volumes declined by around 11% during the same period.
Counterpoint attributes the growth in refurbished smartphones to rising device prices, premiumisation, greater consumer acceptance, trade-in programmes and improving quality standards.
For retailers, renewed smartphones offer an alternative for customers who want premium devices but are unwilling to pay the full price of a new flagship smartphone. Telecom distributors are also adding renewed devices to their portfolios to support sales volumes.
ControlZ Focuses on Device Quality and Customer Assurance
ControlZ is positioning quality assurance as a key part of its retail offering. According to the company, every device is renewed at its Renew Hub, an ISO Class 7 cleanroom facility that uses automated testing and renewal processes.
The company says its renewed smartphones come with 100% battery health and a 12-month warranty. Customers also have access to a nationwide network of more than 700 service centres for post-purchase support.
No-Cost EMI Options Through Bajaj Finance
ControlZ has partnered with Bajaj Finance to offer customers no-cost EMI options for up to 24 months. The financing option is intended to make premium renewed smartphones more accessible to buyers at retail counters.
By combining device quality assurance, warranty coverage, service support and financing options, ControlZ is seeking to address concerns around trust and affordability in the renewed smartphone market.
ControlZ Targets 3,000 Authorised Dealers
ControlZ plans to increase its authorised dealer network from more than 1,000 to 3,000 by the end of the fiscal year. The company believes that combining industrial-grade renewal processes with a wider physical distribution network can help renewed smartphones become a mainstream category across India’s general-trade retail ecosystem.
Leadership Comment
Yug Bhatia, Founder & CEO, ControlZ, said, “Our dealers are telling us something simple: customers want a premium phone they can trust, and renewal is increasingly how they get it. India’s smartphone market has reached an inflection point, and renewed devices are becoming a mainstream growth line for retail. With the country’s biggest distribution network for renewed devices, 1,000+ dealers backed by 700+ service centres, we are giving the offline trade what it needs to sell with confidence: one standard of quality, a 12-month warranty and dependable after-sales service in every market we enter. Scaling to 3,000 authorised dealers is about taking that standard further, not diluting it.”
