MediaTek Launches Future Minds Initiative to Train 6,000 Students in Entrepreneurship

MediaTek has partnered with ThinkStartup to launch Future Minds: Powering the Disruptors of Tomorrow, a digital entrepreneurship education initiative aimed at 6,000 students from underprivileged backgrounds across 30 states in India. Unveiled at India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, the year-long programme will focus on developing entrepreneurial skills among students from Classes 8 to 12.

The initiative is part of MediaTek’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts and is designed to expand access to entrepreneurship education for students across the country.

MediaTek Future Minds Programme to Reach Students Across 30 States

Powered by ThinkStartup and the Management & Entrepreneurship and Professional Skills Council (MEPSC), the Future Minds programme will be rolled out across government and foundation-supported communities.

The initiative will include students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and PM Shri Schools. It aims to provide students from underprivileged backgrounds with structured learning opportunities in digital entrepreneurship.

Curriculum to Cover Business Fundamentals and Finance

The programme will offer a structured curriculum covering ideation, business fundamentals and finance. It is designed to help students understand the process of developing entrepreneurial ideas and building the knowledge needed to turn them into ventures.

Alongside the core coursework, participants will attend live masterclasses hosted by founders who are alumni of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Students to Participate in Idea Labs and Pitch Days

The Future Minds initiative will also feature a guided TS Idea Lab, where students can work on developing their concepts. Monthly pitch days will give participants opportunities to refine and present their ideas.

These activities will form part of the programme’s broader effort to introduce students to entrepreneurship through structured learning and practical engagement.

National Showcase Planned for May 2027

The year-long programme will culminate in May 2027 with a national showcase of student-led entrepreneurial ventures. The event will coincide with MediaTek’s 30th anniversary globally.

The showcase will bring the initiative’s student projects into focus as the programme concludes its year-long educational journey.

MediaTek Future Minds Focuses on Digital Inclusion and Youth Empowerment

With a planned reach of 6,000 students across 30 states, MediaTek’s Future Minds programme aims to broaden access to entrepreneurship education among school students from underprivileged backgrounds.

The company says the initiative reinforces its broader commitment to digital inclusion and youth empowerment in India, with a focus on helping students develop entrepreneurial knowledge and explore their ideas.

Leadership Comments

“MediaTek’s business is built on enabling ideas to become technology that reaches a billion devices,” said Anku Jain, Managing Director, MediaTek India. “Future Minds extends that same belief to 6,000 young minds from underprivileged and government schools across 30 states, giving them the tools to turn their own ideas into ventures. Nurturing young builders is what MediaTek has always stood for, and initiatives like this naturally support India’s journey toward a Viksit Bharat.”

Mr. Sanjeeva Shivesh, Co-founder, ThinkStartup, added, “At ThinkStartup, we have always believed entrepreneurship is an essential life skill. MediaTek wanted an intervention that could be rolled out at a national scale, reaching youth from underprivileged backgrounds, and our eSchool platform fit perfectly with that vision. Over the next year, we will provide teenagers in Class 8 to 12 the chance to learn, build and pitch real ideas with real mentorship. We are grateful to MediaTek for backing this program, and we are hoping our youngsters will inspire the world with a slew of innovative solutions that take India forward.”
