SportVot has expanded its sports streaming platform to television, with the SportVot app now available on Android TV and Amazon Fire TV. The app was previously available on mobile and tablet devices.
The move brings SportVot’s growing portfolio of live sports content to connected television audiences and expands the startup’s distribution footprint beyond mobile devices.
SportVot Targets a Larger Connected-TV Audience
Android TV enables users to access apps on television devices through Google Play, while Amazon Fire TV spans more than 250 million devices worldwide.
By making its app available across both ecosystems, SportVot is expanding its opportunity to reach audiences through connected TVs and bring its sports programming to a wider television audience.
SportVot Plans Expansion Across More TV Platforms
SportVot plans to further expand its television presence by bringing the app to additional connected-TV and operator platforms.
The company plans to expand across platforms and services including Tata Play Binge, Vi TV, Sun TV, Dish TV, Sri Lanka Telecom and CloudWalker, as well as other platforms. The expansion is aimed at building a wider television distribution network.
SportVot Has Powered More Than 6 Lakh Games
The television expansion comes as SportVot continues to increase the breadth of sports available through its platform.
The company has powered more than 6 lakh games across over 40,000 tournaments and more than 52 sports. Its coverage spans school and community sports as well as district, state and national-level competitions.
SportVot has also been expanding its presence across international markets.
SportVot Streams International Sports Events
SportVot’s recent programming includes European summer club friendlies featuring more than 23 clubs, including Aston Villa. The platform is also the official streaming partner in India for the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).
The platform has also carried the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Its international cricket programming has extended across markets including Australia, Japan, Uganda, Eswatini, Germany and Sweden.
SportVot Expands Its Sports Streaming Ecosystem
SportVot continues to expand its programming across cricket, football, kabaddi and other sports.
With its app now available on Android TV and Amazon Fire TV, the company is adding connected television to its distribution network while continuing to build its wider sports streaming ecosystem.
Leadership Comment
Shubhangi Gupta, Co-founder and CMO, SportVot, said, “The opportunity with connected TV goes beyond giving fans another way to watch. It allows the competitions and sporting properties on SportVot to enter a viewing environment that has traditionally been central to sports consumption. As we work with more organisers across different levels of sport, expanding the platforms through which their games can be discovered and followed becomes an important part of building a larger audience for the sport itself.”
