FiiO FG3 Gaming Headset Launched in India with Dual Dynamic Drivers

FiiO has entered the gaming headset segment with the launch of its first gaming headset, the FiiO FG3. The company has brought its experience in HiFi driver engineering to the new headset, focusing on audio quality and positional accuracy.

FiiO has spent more than a decade developing headphones, in-ear monitors, portable amplifiers and music players. With the FG3, the company has applied its approach to audio engineering to gaming.

The FiiO FG3 is now available in India exclusively through Headphone Zone.

FiiO FG3 Gets Coaxial Dual Dynamic Drivers

The FiiO FG3 features two dynamic drivers, including a 50mm driver and a 16mm driver. Both drivers are mounted on the same axis so that sound radiates from a single point.

An electronic two-way crossover divides the frequency range between the two drivers. The larger 50mm driver handles the mid and low frequencies, while the smaller 16mm driver handles high frequencies.

This configuration is designed to help maintain positional information in games. According to FiiO, keeping the drivers coaxial helps preserve the sense of where a sound is coming from.

Dual Core DSP and 192kHz/24bit DAC

The FiiO FG3 features a dual-core DSP chip for audio processing and a DAC capable of decoding audio up to 192kHz/24bit.

The headset also comes with a dedicated headphone amplifier capable of delivering up to 80mW of output power.

FiiO says the dual-core architecture is designed to keep the audio processing pipeline fast while running surround and EQ algorithms. The amplifier is intended to help maintain audible detail during both quiet and loud moments.

Six Audio Modes for Different Uses

The FiiO FG3 comes with six audio modes: FPS, ACT, MOBA, MUG, Cinema and Music.

The FPS mode is designed to suppress explosive rumble to keep footsteps and positional cues more prominent. ACT adds impact and weight for action games, while MOBA focuses on ability cues and voice clarity.

The MUG mode is tuned for rhythm games, with an emphasis on timing and bass precision. Cinema expands the soundstage for films, while Music provides a balanced profile for general listening.

7.1 Virtual Surround Available in Two Modes

The FG3 features a custom-tuned 7.1 virtual surround algorithm that operates in Cinema and ACT modes.

FiiO has limited the surround processing to these two modes because virtual surround can be useful for immersion in films and action games, while competitive FPS and MOBA gaming can benefit from keeping positional audio information more direct.

Users can switch between the six audio modes with a single press of the inline control. A colour-coded indicator shows the currently active mode.

Ten-Band EQ Works Through a Web Browser

The FiiO FG3 supports a ten-band custom EQ through FIIO Control WEB, a browser-based platform.

Users do not need to install drivers or download client software to adjust the headset’s settings. This also allows the headset to be configured on computers that users do not own, such as shared PCs or internet cafe systems.

EQ profiles can also be saved locally on the headset for quick recall.

Detachable Microphone with ENC and Sidetone

The FG3 comes with a detachable microphone featuring an ENC algorithm designed to filter ambient noise and isolate the user’s voice from sounds such as keyboard clicks, mouse taps and room noise.

The headset also supports real-time microphone monitoring, or sidetone. This is processed through the hardware rather than the operating system, helping reduce the delay between speaking and hearing one’s own voice.

Sidetone can be switched on or off and its volume can be adjusted through FIIO Control WEB.

The microphone can also be completely detached when the headset is being used for music or films. A dedicated microphone mute button with a red indicator is included on the inline control.

Foldable Design and Swappable Earpads

The FiiO FG3 features a foldable frame and a stainless steel headband.

Its earpads are swappable and use woven mesh fabric over a memory foam base. The material is designed for breathability and sweat resistance.

The headset uses a closed-back over-ear design for room noise isolation.

Type-C Cable and Wide Device Compatibility

The FG3 comes with a braided cable that terminates in a Type-C connector. A USB-A adapter is also included in the box.

The headset can adapt between UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0. According to the provided specifications, it is compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11, along with smartphones, laptops, PS4, PS5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

The headset does not require driver installation and supports plug-and-play operation.

FiiO FG3 Price and Availability in India

The FiiO FG3 is priced at Rs. 6,999 in India. It is available exclusively through Headphone Zone.

The gaming headset comes with a one-year FiiO warranty covering manufacturing defects.

FiiO FG3 Brings HiFi-Inspired Audio Engineering to Gaming

With the FiiO FG3, the company has entered gaming with a headset built around its HiFi audio engineering approach. Its coaxial 50mm and 16mm dynamic drivers, dual-core DSP, six audio modes, 7.1 virtual surround, ten-band EQ and detachable ENC microphone are designed to address different gaming and listening requirements.

The FiiO FG3 gaming headset is available in India for Rs. 6,999 through Headphone Zone.

Leadership Quote

“FiiO has been expanding at a pace very few audio companies manage, moving into new categories every year and getting them right. Gaming was the obvious gap. We already see a lot of people gaming with IEMs, especially on mobile, and that is largely because good sound has been easier to find in an IEM than in a headset. What has been genuinely hard to find is a proper gaming headphone from a serious audio brand at a price most gamers in India can actually pay. The FG3 is that. It comes from a company that has spent fifteen years learning how to make things sound right, and it costs Rs. 6,999.” – Raghav Somani, Founder and CEO, Headphone Zone.
