Agile Robots SE has acquired a majority stake in Bengaluru-based XNG Automation as part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in India’s fast-growing manufacturing sector.
The investment is expected to enhance Agile Robots’ ability to deliver AI-powered robotics and automation solutions to customers across the country by combining its robotics technologies with XNG Automation’s local system integration expertise.
Strengthening Robotics and Automation Capabilities
Agile Robots plans to leverage XNG Automation’s capabilities in factory and intralogistics automation to expand the deployment of its AI-enabled robotics hardware and software solutions across Indian industries.
According to the company, the partnership will enable customers to benefit from advanced robotics technologies backed by local implementation and engineering support.
Agile Robots’ Global Portfolio
Founded in 2018 as a spin-off from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Munich, Agile Robots develops AI-powered robotics solutions for industrial applications.
The company says it has deployed more than 20,000 robotics solutions worldwide across industries such as consumer electronics and automotive. Its product portfolio includes the Agile Hand dexterous robotic hand and the Agile ONE humanoid robot designed for industrial environments.
XNG Automation’s Expertise
Headquartered in Bengaluru, XNG Automation employs around 200 people and specialises in factory automation, intralogistics automation, system integration, and machine vision solutions.
The company serves industries including consumer electronics, automotive, and electric vehicles, with customers such as Bosch and Toyota.
Building on Existing India Operations
The investment follows Agile Robots’ recent expansion in India. In 2024, the company established a manufacturing facility in Chennai and opened its regional headquarters in Bengaluru.
With the acquisition of XNG Automation, Agile Robots aims to further strengthen its position in India’s manufacturing automation market as industries increasingly adopt AI-powered robotics and smart factory technologies.
