The latest update introduces an automatic Security Check feature running in the background, actively scanning for potential threats such as compromised passwords, harmful extensions, and site permissions requiring attention. Users will receive alerts through Chrome’s three-dot menu, facilitating prompt actions to address potential security risks. Additionally, users can effortlessly revoke site permissions.
Building on last year’s performance controls, which included the Memory Saver mode, the new update enhances user experience by providing more details about tabs’ memory usage when hovering over them in Memory Saver mode.
For users familiar with Microsoft Edge’s tab grouping feature, Chrome on desktop now introduces a similar functionality. This tab grouping feature aids multitasking by allowing users to declutter and organize their tabs. Users can assign custom names to tab groups, and in a future update, they will have the ability to save groups for seamless continuation on another desktop.
