Universal Robots, the Danish pioneer in collaborative robot (cobot) manufacturing, has unveiled its plan to enhance its prominent product lineup by introducing a new cobot with a 30 kg payload.
The UR30, the second in Universal Robot’s series of innovative cobots, shares the same architecture as the award-winning UR20. Despite its compact size, the UR30 offers exceptional lifting capabilities, and its superior motion control ensures precise placement of large payloads, allowing it to operate at higher speeds and handle heavier loads.
The UR30 finds its application in various scenarios, including machine tending, material handling, and high-torque screw driving. In machine tending, the higher payload opens up new possibilities, enabling the cobot to use multiple grippers simultaneously. This capability allows it to remove finished parts and load additional materials in a single pass, reducing changeover times and maximizing productivity.
Additionally, the UR30 is well-suited for high-torque screw driving tasks, handling larger and higher-output torque tools. The steady mode feature ensures straight and consistent screw driving, particularly beneficial in industries like automotive manufacturing.
With its 30 kg payload, the UR30 is an ideal solution for material handling and palletizing of heavy products across various industries. Its small footprint allows it to fit into almost any workspace, relieving human workers of heavy lifting tasks. Weighing only 63.5 kg, it can be easily moved between work cells.
