New Relic, the comprehensive observability platform catering to engineers, has proudly welcomed Rohit Ramanand as the Group Vice President of Engineering for India. In this strategic role, Ramanand will lead New Relic India’s product and engineering teams, contributing significantly to the formulation of the company’s broader engineering strategy and the expansion of the local team.
Bringing nearly 25 years of industry expertise to this pivotal position, Ramanand most recently served as the Vice President of Engineering at Walmart Global Technology. His prior roles include technology leadership positions at renowned organizations such as Limelight Networks, Sapient, and Infosys.
New Relic’s Chief Technology Officer, Siva Padisetty, expressed enthusiasm about Ramanand’s joining, stating, “Rohit has joined New Relic at a very exciting time as we continue to expand across India–inline with the huge business opportunity we have here–and bring exciting new products to market. His extensive technology experience in India and abroad will have an invaluable impact both on the product roadmap and our product and engineering teams based out of India.”
The New Relic observability platform empowers engineers through a data-driven approach to the entire software development lifecycle. Ramanand’s appointment signifies New Relic’s ongoing commitment to India, following the establishment of new offices in Bengaluru and Hyderabad last year.
According to the New Relic 2023 Observability Forecast report, Indian organizations highly advocate observability, especially within the technical C-suite, where over three-quarters (77%) emphasize its importance. The report also highlights substantial observability adoption and value realization by Indian organizations.

“Coming from the retail and e-commerce technology space, I understand how critical it is for businesses to have observability. I’m fascinated by deep tech and working on complex problems, which is why New Relic is a perfect fit for me,” said New Relic Group Vice President Engineering for India Rohit Ramanand.
“I am thrilled to build upon the great work that Siva and team have been doing across the company, and plan to capitalise on the incredible tech talent that we have here in India as we continue to further grow the team.”
Ramanand’s appointment follows the recent addition of Prasad Rai as New Relic’s Vice President Sales for India and the announcement of innovative products, including Session Replay and Interactive Application Security Testing, signaling New Relic’s commitment to advancing its offerings and presence in the Indian market.
