In a strategic move, New Relic, the all-in-one observability platform, has named Prasad Rai as Vice President of Sales for India. Rai is set to lead New Relic India’s high-performing sales teams as they expand the company’s presence in key sectors such as e-commerce, media, and financial services. Additionally, he will deepen relationships with both new and existing customers by exploring new use cases and fostering collaborative innovation.
Rai brings with him a wealth of experience, with over two decades in sales and leadership roles in the technology industry, spanning India and the Asia Pacific. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Vice President of the Global Strategic Clients Group at Oracle India, where he oversaw key enterprise clients and played a pivotal role in scaling Oracle’s cloud presence across various services, including SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS.
New Relic’s Senior Vice President, Kris Day, expressed the significance of Rai’s appointment, given India’s prominence in the global developer community and its robust economic standing. He stated, âIndia is home to a significant number of the worldâs developers and is currently ranked fifth globally in GDP rankings for 2023, creating a massive opportunity for growth. Prasad is positioned to help the India team capitalise on this opportunity by supporting our customers in the subcontinent at every stage of their observability journey. We are delighted to have Prasad join the team and share his wide-ranging experience from India and the Asia Pacific region to support New Relic as it continues to deliver exceptional customer value.â
New Relic’s observability platform empowers organizations to enhance scale and efficiency, boost uptime and performance, and accelerate time to market, ultimately delivering outstanding customer experiences. This strategic move reaffirms New Relic’s commitment to the Indian market, following the establishment of new offices in Bengaluru and Hyderabad last year and the ongoing collaboration with key Indian customers, including BigBasket, Capillary Technologies, HealthifyMe, and Open Financial Technologies.
Prasad Rai, the newly appointed Vice President of Sales for India at New Relic, emphasized the immense opportunity presented by the growing cloud market in India and the company’s renowned observability suite. He said, âThe combination of a growing cloud market and the outstanding reputation of the New Relic suite of all-in-one observability products represents a prime opportunity for the India market. I am thrilled to join the New Relic team and look forward to overseeing the continued implementation of cohesive observability strategies for our customers, while simultaneously supporting our incredible team to further strengthen our position in the observability space.â
According to the New Relic 2023 Observability Forecast report, Indian organizations have shown strong adoption of observability practices, yielding substantial value from their investments and garnering high advocacy across all roles, including the C-suite. The importance of observability in India is further underscored by Gartner’s inclusion of “Applied Observability” as the second most important technology trend for 2023.
Prasad Rai’s appointment is effective immediately and coincides with New Relic’s recent product innovations, including Session Replay and Interactive Application Security Testing. For more details on these products, visit newrelic.com.
