The long-awaited Intel Arc A580 GPU, which had been the subject of cancellation rumors, has finally made an appearance online, hinting at an imminent worldwide release. Initially announced by Intel in late 2022 as part of its Arc lineup of graphics cards, the A580 model was highly anticipated but hadn’t been released, causing speculation about its status.
Intel had unveiled four different graphics cards under the Arc lineup, including the A580, which was expected to feature 8GB of GDDR6 memory, a 21.7 billion transistor count, a 175W TDP (thermal design power), and 24 Xe-cores. While the other models in the Arc lineup saw a global release, the A580 had remained elusive.
However, recent developments suggest that the Intel Arc A580 GPU may soon become available to consumers. A retailer in Austria, Geizhals.at, has listed the Intel Arc A580 graphics card with ASRock as the AIB (add-in board) partner. This listing provides detailed specifications for the ASRock Intel Arc A580 Challenger OC variant.
The revelation was first spotted by hardware leaker @momomo_us, formerly known as X user on Twitter. Additionally, VideoCardz reported the existence of an Intel Arc A580 graphics card designed by the Sparkle brand. Further details about the A580 were shared by @momomo_us, who disclosed a previously unrevealed slide from Intel’s internal documents, providing insights into the A580’s specifications.
The A580 is expected to feature 8GB of GDDR6 memory, a 175W TDP (requiring two 8-pin power connectors), PCIe 4.0 x16 support, ray tracing capabilities, AV1 encoding, and Intel’s XeSS technology, which enhances image quality. This development adds another player to the competitive budget GPU market and raises anticipation for benchmark tests and performance comparisons with rival offerings. The impending launch of the Intel Arc A580 GPU is generating excitement among tech enthusiasts.
