iPhone 15 Ultra to Feature Action Button Instead of Mute Switch, According to Apple

As the anticipated release date of the iPhone 15 series approaches rapidly, slated for September 12, the tech community is abuzz with new revelations about these upcoming devices. The latest scoop centers on the flagship model, the iPhone 15 Ultra (also recognized as the iPhone 15 Pro Max).

Game-Changing Shift: A Novel Button for iPhone 15 Ultra

Apple is gearing up to embrace the moniker “Ultra” for its next-gen iPhone 15 Pro Max variant, coupled with a significant design overhaul. Leaked images purporting to be the casing for the premier version of the iPhone 15 have surfaced, shedding light on the novel ‘action button’ that’s set to make its debut in the iPhone 15 series.

Historically, all iPhone iterations featured a switch-esque button located just above the volume controls, allowing users to effortlessly mute their devices to sidestep inconvenient interruptions. However, a recent leak from insider Majin Bu divulges that this button is poised for a transformation into an all-new ‘action button’. With its functionality yet to be fully clarified, this button holds the potential to be programmed for diverse tasks.

While the legitimacy of these cases is debatable, they’re often crafted by manufacturers based on available iPhone models. Positioned on the left-hand side of the cases are three buttons—an uncommon arrangement. The volume up and down buttons, noticeably larger, sit at the lower part, while the newly introduced ‘action button’, slightly recessed in design, claims its place at the upper end. This alteration contrasts with the conventional layout maintained in other areas of the case.
