Google has introduced several features for YouTube Premium subscribers, including Enhanced Video Quality on iOS earlier this year. They had mentioned that an experiment would soon be coming to the Web as well. Following a recent test, YouTube has now started rolling out the feature widely.
Similar to the iOS version, YouTube Premium members on the web now have access to a new enhanced bitrate version of 1080p HD video quality, in addition to the standard 1080p HD video quality available to everyone.
According to YouTube, the enhanced bitrate version will deliver crisper and clearer videos, especially for content with high detail and motion. However, it is not clear which videos are eligible to receive this feature.
YouTube has not provided any information on when this feature will be available to Android users.
