Indian women entrepreneurs are not only leading their households financially but also spearheading artificial intelligence (AI) adoption to power their businesses. According to GoDaddy’s 2025 Global Entrepreneurship Survey, women-led businesses are leveraging technology to streamline operations and unlock new growth opportunities. This shift is transforming India’s entrepreneurial landscape, inspiring a new generation of business leaders in a post-COVID economy.
The survey reveals that 27% of small businesses in India are owned by women, with an impressive 74% of these ventures launched in the last five years. This highlights the increasing presence of women in entrepreneurship and their ability to thrive despite economic challenges.
AI as a Game-Changer for Women Entrepreneurs
Confidence is at an all-time high among women business owners, with 90% believing in their capabilities to run successful ventures. Notably, 58% expect AI to help their small businesses compete with larger, well-funded companies within the next year.
AI tools are already proving to be major time-savers, with Indian women entrepreneurs reporting that they save an average of 12 hours per week using AI-powered platforms like GoDaddy Airo®. Women Entrepreneurs Overcoming Economic Uncertainty
Despite mixed sentiment about the Indian economy—only 38% of female entrepreneurs feel very optimistic—women-led businesses remain resilient. 81% believe their business will grow within the next 3-5 years, a higher percentage than male entrepreneurs (77%).
Additionally, 37% of Indian women entrepreneurs are the primary income earners in their households. This underscores their role in boosting local economies, generating employment, and financially supporting their families.
Embracing Digital Tools to Accelerate Growth
Beyond financial independence, women entrepreneurs find joy in learning new skills (44%), with 58% appreciating the ability to create their own income and 52% valuing the ability to support their families. Digital tools have become a key enabler in helping them scale their businesses efficiently.
Laura Messerschmidt, President of International Markets at GoDaddy – “With AI-powered tools like GoDaddy Airo, women entrepreneurs are able to free up time to spend it on what really matters to them.
